Hi guys and girls!

I'm new to the forum and think it's great.

I've just seen the flyer for Brighthouse too. It says Leadgate but the map is clearly Woolworth's old shop. I think Leadgate has sneaked into the address by mistake.

Just what people need when money is tight... NOT!! Just in time to catch all those people that were struggling to buy Xmas pressies and didn't know where the cash was coming from. I know, let's go to Brighthouse and pay on the never never. BEWARE!! :alvarin:

Yes pleased I've taught you something. Now the words teach, cup, and coffee spring to mind.

Rita come in and said there was quite a carnival atmosphere outside Brighthouse for todays opening. Plenty of loud music, balloons, staff in fancy dress.

Got the flyer. Some of the prices look astronomical. Will avoid.

Isn't Brighthouse the place where they don't do credit checks on people???? Their customers therefore will probably be people who can't get credit, credit cards or such, and will just be paying the minimum back.
I have a credit card but it is knowhere near 29.9% and I always pay much more than minimum per month.

Looked in the window this morning. Flat screen TV £800 (which I feel is inflated anyway), total amount repayable £1800!!! £8 per week. Such a rip off it should be illegal!

The pedestrian lights were on red so I changed a quick look today. Definately designed window dressing that will pull the punters in.

Good on BrightHouse bringing jobs into Consett.

Problem is that this is a clear marker of social deprivation having a BrightHouse store open in the area. Watch out for the first person to fall behind in payments and not understanding why they get charged £2.70 PER WEEK PER AGREEMENT in late payment fees (look at the agreement; 1 for the Mattress 1 for the Frame). This is in addition to the 29.9% APR for the item in the first instance.

An example I looked at for a TV costing £1196.36 in Brighthouse (same model avail in Argos 100 yards away is £812.23) on an weekly agreement of £11.04 costs in total £1722.24!! (TV stand extra).

Never mind you can always walk to Boyes and sell your grandmothers wedding ring to the Gold man sitting at his desk to cover the payments :haha:

Be careful and read the agreement thoroughly before you sign is all I can say.
